India is a great country not only because of its multi-religion, great democracy, oldest civilisation but also because of its land.

Yes, land ( Indian is among worlds great fertile country and this is a reason for its vast population). India contributes nearly 25% of food grains.

But wait, here is some problem Indian geography is facing regarding its great land area known as ' barrier problem '.
Yes, we are talking about reducing ecological barriers of India
Ecological barriers are natural borders between two ecosystems such as a desert, rivers, mountains and in our definition, these are preventing one ecosystem to become part of other, for example, presence of Aravalli Mountain preventing the northeast region of Aravalli to become part of the great Indian desert but as we know that most of the part of Aravalli range has been lost due to illegal mining in Rajasthan and because of denudation process, so because of this we are seeing more and more land part of north-west India is changing into desertified land and India is losing its fertile land due to loss of its Aravalli natural barrier, this phenomena can easily be seen in regions of Haryana state 🤢🤢

Another example of losing fertile land is India's decreasing coastal areas. As we know Higher air humidity in coastal areas is favourable to the occurrence and propagation of certain plant diseases and pests that constrain crop growth. Peanuts, tobacco, and soybeans grow well here. But as per the report, sea level along Indian coastal region rose by 8.5 cm in last 50 year(https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/sea-level-along-indian-coast-rose-by-85-cm-in-last-50-years-environment-minister/article30016672.ece)
So, because of this, we are losing our coastal areas and more salty seawater is coming more inside our coastal areas and this makes things creepy for agriculture and other activity because as we know salty water is not good for mainland part.

Another example of losing agriculture land is by our overpopulation. Overpopulation resulted in land resource scarcity, fragmentation of farm plots, and ecological degradation such as increasing emissions, soil erosion, deforestation, and the overuse of natural resources. As more land is lost, it will become more difficult to produce the amount of food needed to feed the growing human population. If this land is lost, people may find it more difficult to find products, and prices may also rise.
( According to a report of UNCCD Between 1.6 and 3.3 million hectares of agricultural land could be lost by 2030)

So, these all stuff mentioned above are serious issues for which we to need to deal. As time passes these natural barriers are not last much. We need to safe our natural ecological barriers so that we can safe our two borders mixing.

We are losing our fertile land more rapidly from the last some decades, we need to take some serious action for that.
